If you have come across a story on the Internet with a headline that reads “Jennifer Aniston passed away”, please do not fall for it as it’s a baseless death hoax.
The Friends star is the latest target of the infamous trend which falsely kills famous celebrities, fooling people into believing that they are dead.
However, we urge you to take a moment or two to confirm if the wild claims are true and also report questionable Internet posts which consist of nothing but a lie.
‘Jennifer Aniston passed away’ rumor debunked
The rumor that Jennifer passed away can be traced back to Facebook, where pages and accounts notorious for spreading false information are increasing by the day.
The post falsely claims that the actress passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023, without stating the reason for her fake death.
“Jennifer Aniston was born on February 11, 1969 in Los Angeles. She will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page,” it reads further.
Clearly, the above rumor was created only for clout as the bogus post is requesting more likes and comments.
The same page has targeted more celebrities before, including the Breaking Bad actor Bryan Cranston, falsely claiming that he had passed away.
Fans have had enough of death hoaxes
Internet death hoaxes surface so very often that people have grown sick of it.
Apparently, The Celebrity Post set up a poll to determine fans’ opinions about rumors that Jennifer passed away, and guess what they feel about it?
About 33 per cent of the total number of voters thought the hoax was “funny”, but the rest 67 per cent feels it is “stupid and boring.”
If you agree with the majority of the fans and are tired of baseless speculations, simply report them to avoid the misinformation from spreading further.
Most networking sites, such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter, give users the option to report any suspicious post, which will be reviewed further by the team and eventually taken down.
Actress is well and alive in 2023
Jennifer is alive and well in 2023 and fans have nothing to worry about.
A few weeks ago she accompanied her co-star from Friends, Courtney Cox, when the latter was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
She was also busy with filming for Season 3 of The Morning Show and turned a year older on February 11.
Jennifer is celebrating the success of her haircare line LolaVie at the moment, not paying heed to Internet trolls.
