SOAP legend Jennifer Ellison has teased that she’d reprise her role as the mouthy Emily Shadwick on Brookside in a flash.
The revelation came as Jennifer, 38, shared that she has just finished shooting for a new series, but the actress couldn’t say any more about the project.
However, she was able to confirm that the show definitely isn’t the popular Channel 4 soap, which she starred on between 1998 and 2003.
In an interview with Daily Star at last night’s National Diversity Awards, the Liverpudlian added that the new programme will come out later in 2022.
When asked for her thoughts on Brookside creator Phil Redmond’s recent suggestion of a comeback for the show, Jennifer seemed keen.
She said: “Brookside changed my life. I went from here, a little dancer to like, having absolutely nothing to overnight living my dream.
“I would do Brookside again in a heartbeat. Only for the reason that it means so much to me. I could just never say no to it”.
The mum-of-three also opened up about her relationships with former Brookie co-stars, saying she stays in contact with a few.
One of these is Philip Olivier, Jennifer’s on-screen hubby in the soap, who she announced was also at the event.
Jennifer took a break from fame to focus on her kids, but she’s managed to carve out time to start and run her own dance school.
Students at the Liverpool-based school, Jelly Academy, impressed the audience at the National Diversity Awards with an incredible performance.
In the same way as Brookside changed Jennifer’s life, she’s now changing the lives of talented students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
