Former heavyweight knockout specialist Mike Tyson seems to favor Tyson Fury over Anthony Joshua in the upcoming title unification clash, which is still to be scheduled with an official date and venue.
‘Iron’ Tyson, himself a former world champion and one of the greatest boxers ever, understands the fight game to its core. That said, he has expressed his love for Joshua and has admired his punching power. However, Mike Tyson still doesn’t see him surpass the WBC champion, Tyson Fury.
In an interaction with Haute Living in a live Instagram session, Tyson posed his opinion on Fury vs Joshua and explained why ‘The Gypsy King’ will be the favorite against ‘AJ’.
“You know I fu*** love (Anthony) Joshua, but I think (Tyson) Fury is too elusive. Joshua is not going to hit him. We are keeping it honest right? I like Joshua a lot. Maybe he punches harder than Deontay Wilder, but he doesn’t punch faster than Wilder,” said Mike Tyson (H/T: ESPN Ringside).
He added, “If he doesn’t punch faster than Wilder, he is not going to fu**** touch this guy. If Tyson Fury can get away from Wilder’s fast punches, Joshua might be in trouble.”

Akin to Tyson, most of the boxing world seems to be on Tyson Fury’s corner. However, it’s bizarre to write off Anthony Joshua from the mix. After dooming down to the sole career loss against Andy Ruiz Jr., Joshua has reclaimed his lost spot in fashion.
Since the defeat, Joshua has beaten Ruiz Jr. via decision in the rematch. He then defended the belts with a successful KO over Kubrat Pulev in December. So, he has his chances of landing a stunner.
Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua- Update in the matchup
According to reports, the heavyweight thriller is a done deal and has received a green signal from both ends. Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have signed a two-fight contract with a 50/50 purse split in the original matchup.
However, the winner will relish a 60/40 split in the rematch. That said, the fight has more legacies to look at. Joshua’s WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO titles will be on the line alongside Fury’s WBC strap.
