Kanye West’s new track mentions near-fatal accident

Eazy was released on 15th January 2022 and has been labelled somewhat of a ‘diss track’ as he shades his ex-wife and her new partner, Pete Davidson.

Aside from throwing some serious shade, Kanye West also mentions a near-fatal car incident that he endured in 2002.

Two minutes and 35 seconds into the collaboration, Ye raps the line:

“God saved me from that crash”

What happened in the 2002 car crash?

When claiming that God saved him from a crash, West is referring to a car accident that took place on October 23rd in 2002.

Rolling Stone reports that Kanye West survived a serious car collision in Los Angeles while driving home from a recording session at 4 am.

The artist fell asleep at the wheel of his rental Lexus and crashed into an oncoming car.

While the other driver involved broke both of his legs, Kanye’s jaw was reportedly shattered.

Just two weeks after the accident, with his mouth still wired shut, West recorded his first single, Through the Wire.

Song Facts states that the rapper had to release all of his mixed emotions at the time, taking pain medications between takes to complete the song.

‘Diss track’ visits more deep topics

After revisiting his past car crash in Eazy, Ye’s following lyric rhymes:

“Just so I could beat Pete Davidson’s a**”

This particular line refers to his ex-wife’s first public relationship since their high-profile split.

41-year-old reality TV star Kim Kardashian is currently dating 28-year-old popular actor and comedian Pete Davidson. Kanye does not seem too happy about the situation in his new tune.

However, West also raps that he is having the “best divorce ever” and even notes that he bought the house next to Kardashian’s in order to stay near his four children.
