Kate Ferdinand has revealed one of her favourite jobs as a mum to a newborn tot – and it is not what you would expect.
The former reality TV personality, 29, says she is fond of nappy changing duties as her son Cree – who she welcomed with husband Rio Ferdinand in December 2020 – finds time on the changing table fun as he “giggles and laughs the whole time.”
Proving changing diapers is not always rosy, Kate then told how her life is not always “picture perfect” and that on several occasions – like many new mums – she has been covered in poo.
Taking to Instagram on Monday to give a candid insight into her role as a mummy, the blonde bombshell typed: “I never thought I’d actually say I really enjoy changing Crees nappy he is so happy when we do, it’s just so funny, he giggles and laughs the whole time!!”
Reflecting on how she never expected that changing her tot’s nappy would bring her joy, she continued: “Being a parent is funny, the things you thought you would dread you actually enjoy and the things you thought you wouldn’t mind you can some times dread.”
The beauty – who illustrated the post with a selection of cute snaps of herself tending to Cree – then warned her followers that among the photos was a snap of a “poo explosion.”
“Here’s a couple pictures of us having a great time, and 1 of an absolute poo explosion,” she continued.
“Swipe Projectile poo from the little boy it’s not always picture perfect guys, you win some & you definitely get covered in poo for some.”
The unpleasant snap showed one of the grey velvet chairs covered in runny greenish poo and Kate also included her hand – that was hit with the faeces – in the photo.
She then went on to promote a brand of baby wipes, as she added: “Thank god for @waterwipes on hand to clean him up – even if we did make our way through a whole pack! Knowing that the wipes are 100% biodegradable and only 99.9% water and with a drop of fruit extract means I know I have the best on hand for powerful cleaning that’s gentle on his skin.”

The yummy mummy welcomed Cree days before Christmas.
After the birth, the former reality personality candidly revealed that she chose not to breastfeed her newborn son.
While she was happy with her decision, she chose not to tell others as she felt under immense pressure to conform to societal standards of motherhood.
Kate has found it difficult to admit in public her choices for fear of the backlash she might face.
“I chose not to breastfeed Cree, for so many reasons and I was worried about admitting it at first as there is so much pressure to breastfeed, but thankfully now I just know that a fed baby is a happy baby and Cree is the happiest little soul and we are so grateful,” she wrote on Instagram.
Kate is also a full-time step mum to Rio’s three children – Lorenz, 14, Tate, 12, and Tia, nine – from his previous marriage to late wife Rebecca Ellison.
