It’s been quite a week for Khloe Kardashian even by her family’s standards.
The Kardashian-Jenner clan is well known for constantly sharing their life to social media but one image that appeared this week caused a major scramble.
An unedited snap of Khloe, 36, caused furore among her representatives who issued orders to have it removed from the internet.
But Khloe was quick to hit back at the haters who claimed she was being “false” and posted a video of herself without filters to her millions of social media followers.
And in doing so the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star feels “strong and happy” a source close to the star told Page Six.
“There’s been an outpouring of support from friends, family and business partners,” the source said.
“It’s truly been amazing – everyone applauding her for opening up about her struggles that they all know have been weighing on her for many years.
“It was a huge release for her to be able to speak her truth finally and she is feeling strong and happy.”
Khloe defended getting the picture taken down. She shared a post saying: “Social media gives people a mouth that they would never have in real life lol.”
It followed the lengthy post which accompanied the video by the star. She wrote: “Hey guys, this is me and my body unretouched and unfiltered.
“The photo that was posted this week is beautiful.
“But as someone who has struggled with body image her whole life, when someone takes a photo of you that isn’t flattering in bad lighting or doesn’t capture your body the way it is after working so hard to get it to this point – and then shares it to the world – you should have every right to ask for it to not be shared – regardless of who you are.”
Khloe later added: “In truth, the pressure, constant ridicule and judgement my entire life to be perfect and to meet other’s standards of how I should look has been too much to bear.”
She signed off the message by saying everyone is “unique and perfect” and told people to “make sure your heart is happy”.
The star is now reportedly wanting to put the ordeal behind her and continue planning daughter True’s third birthday party on Monday.
