NEWCASTLE’S first game under Saudi ownership is back underway after being suspended due to a medical emergency in the stands.
And Son Heung-min has now doubled the visitors’ lead on Tyneside.
The Saudis’ time in charge of Newcastle could hardly have started better as Callum Wilson headed the Toon in front after just two minutes.
But it didn’t last as Spurs showed what they’re made of 15 minutes later when Tanguy Ndombele fired a powerful strike into the top corner to level.
Then on 22 minutes, Harry Kane netted a deft chip which VAR rules was onside to put Nuno’s men ahead.
And once the players returned to the pitch, Kane squared to Son to double the North Londoners’ advantage.

66. Spurs almost prise open the hosts’ again.
Hojbjerg, Kane and Lucas Moura combine to put Son on the run at goal, only for Lascelles to get a block in on the South Korean’s audacious backheel spin.

64. There’s a roar for a penalty from the Gallowgate End as Willock flops to the turf at that end of the stadium. However, Andre Marriner isn’t interested.
Correction: Andre Marriner is interested. He’s interested in booking Willock for what was a fairly dubious dive.

62. Ndombele’s cross from the right is blocked behind by Ritchie.
The Brazilian defender isn’t satisfied with the award of the corner, however, and wants a free-kick for handball against the Scot. Ritchie certainly raised his arm in a less than natural position to intervene.
And having seen how the corner panned out, you can understand why the right-back would have preferred a free-kick.

60. The first change of the afternoon.
Shelvey is on for Newcastle in place of the Sean Longstaff. The midfielder has covered a lot of ground this afternoon, and looks absolutely exhausted as he departs to appreciative applause.

59. Ndombele fancies his chances of adding a bagging his second spectacular curler of the day.
He cuts in from the left and goes for the far corner with his right foot, but this time doesn’t get enough dip on his effort.

56. The going has got tough for Newcastle – and when the going gets tough, the tough send for Jonjo Shelvey.

54. Kane makes Clark look daft, not once but twice.
First, he beats him to a high ball that the defender should never have been second best to, and then easily turns away from the Newcastle man as he desperately attempted to recover.
In retaliation, Clark boots the striker over and receives a yellow card.

52. Son goes a fraction too quickly as Skipp sends him clear on the left.
The amount of space that Newcastle are gifting to some of the best attackers in the league is bizarre.

50. Darlow makes a hash of coming for a corner, and completely misses his punch as Kane head off target. In fact, the Newcastle goalkeeper was closer to connecting with Kane’s head than he was the ball, and can consider himself fortunate that he didn’t concede a penalty.

48. A brilliant take out of the sky from Reguilon is matched by the turn of pace he utilises to skip away from Manquillo.
A cross for a fourth goal looks on the cards, but the Spaniard overdoes it with a miscued backheel that fails to reach Son.

46. The home side get the action back underway at St James’ Park, two goals behind and in the need of something spectacular if they are to come back to claim any points.
They certainly have options in attack, the problem is that their defence is the worst in the Premier League.

HT: NEWCASTLE 1-3 SPURS
It seems a long time ago now that Callum Wilson gave Newcastle a dream start. The striker’s header, two minutes into his return, took the roof off St James’ Park on their day of celebration. However, goals from Tanguy Ndombele, Harry Kane and Heung-min Son have Spurs firmly in the ascendency at the end of a first half most notable for a worrying incident involving a home supporter. As the clock approached 45 minutes, a fan in the East Stand was taken ill and required CPR from bystanders and medics. Fortunately, that person is now said to be stable in hospital.

45+9. The first half ends with tempers flared after Newcastle players – and referee Andre Marriner – refused to stop play after Emerson Royal had gone down injured. Saint-Maximin and Hojbjerg are particularly vocal in their views.

45+6. Saint-Maximin tries to pull one back by plundering his way through. The Frenchman finds his route blocked so goes for a long ranger but it’s well off target.

45+3. Amid an understandably sombre atmosphere, Tottenham bag their third of the afternoon.
It’s a superbly-worked goal featuring all of the visitors’ attacking players. Tanguy Ndombele starts the move before Lucas Moura skips away from his marker and pokes a pass through for Harry Kane.
Confidence renewed, Kane races on to the ball, and then picks out Heung-min Son with a simple cross to the far post that the South Korean fires in.
All too easy.

THE TEAMS RETURN
The players are back out and will undergo a three-minute warm-up before commencing with the first half.
Meanwhile, the supporter involved has been removed from the stand on a stretcher and is on their way to the nearby hospital. The promising news filtering through is that they have been stabilised and we’ll keep our fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.

UPDATE
A stadium announcement has just confirmed that the players will return to the field of play shortly, and will complete the first half after a short warm-up.

45+2. Andre Marriner goes across to the far side where the unfortunate incident has occurred, and enters discussion with a steward and then a policeman.
The referee then decides to take both teams off the field as play is suspended.
While we don’t know the details of the situation unfolding and send our best wishes to those involved, credit must go to the reaction of the players in alerting the authorities. Sergio Reguilon and Eric Dier particularly were quick and thoughtful in their actions.
