GOOD MORNING ARSENAL FANS
Arsenal visit Leicester for a major Premier League fixture at King Power Stadium.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has been dealt with a blow as the squad is facing a sickness bug.
So far, Pablo Mari and Ben White appear to have been struck by the illness as the former was ruled out from the Carabao Cup clash with Leeds and the latter was taken off.
Granit Xhaka is still out with a knee injury whereas Kieran Tierney faces a late fitness test for his ankle issue.
Arteta, though, is hoping that Tierney and Martin Odegaard will be available for today’s clash with Leicester.
The Scotland international has been out since last week with a bruised ankle that forced him to miss the 3-1 win against Aston Villa.
Odegaard, on the other hand, came on in that game but picked up a knock that forced him to miss Tuesday’s Carabao Cup clash.
Arteta said: “They were both out with two different injuries. They tried yesterday but they didn’t feel great.
“They wanted to be involved, but they weren’t good enough to be selected today.
“Hopefully in the next few days they can feel better and they can be available for Leicester.”
Meanwhile, Alexandre Lacazette will snub a new contract offer and leave Arsenal at the end of the season.
That is according to Fichajes, who claims Lacazette will depart from the Emirates this coming summer.
The striker has less than 12 months remaining on his contract with the north Londoners.
The France international looks determined to leave even though he has recently been a key player under Arteta.
Finally, the Spanish head coach, has opened the door to Marseille loanee William Saliba returning to the Emirates next season.
Asked if he’d spoken to Saliba, Arteta said: “Yeah as a club we are always in touch.
“Edu and Ben [Knapper] were there to watch him and keep a close eye on him [and] the progress he’s making.
“He’s obviously our player and we do that with all the loan players that we have”
