Three Liberal MPs are now on medical leave after Andrew Laming’s decision to resign from politics following his admission to online harassment of women.
He was forced to apologise for taking a photo of a women as she was bending over and for trolling two female constituents online.
“The common thread of the last week has been not demonstrating anything close to understanding how my actions affect others. I intend to own those mistakes,” he said.
The Queensland MP will not contest the next election but will remain in the Coalition party room.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison will call a major cabinet reshuffle today in a bid to quell the culture crisis engulfing his government.
Mr Morrison is expected to shift Defence Minister Linda Reynolds and Attorney General Christian Porter into different portfolios and Peter Dutton is tipped to be promoted into the Defence role.
