Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says out of the three Hunter seats the one the Liberals give themselves the most chance in, is Shortland.
“That’s held by Labor frontbencher Pat Conroy, an Anthony Albanese loyalist, by four per cent,”Mr Clennell told Sky News Australia.
“I’m told Paterson, having been in play pre-June lockdown, is a tough ask now – but Pat Conroy is not campaigning in his seat at the moment.
“He is in Glasgow for the COP26 summit while Scott Morrison was touring through his seat yesterday and introducing the Liberal candidate. An interesting call by Conroy in an area where the Coalition thinks it can make hay by being more pro-resources.”
