Here are the details of the life-saving event
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – On Nov. 17, 2021, Lieutenant William Broyles responded to a call for an injured party at a residence located on the 6400 block of Weber Road.
When Lt. Broyles arrived, he found the injured party to have a critical injury. The injured party lost a substantial amount of blood due to the severity of the injury.
Lt. Broyles removed his belt and applied a tourniquet to reduce blood look. Due to Lt. Broyles’s quick and decisive actions, the injured person avoided hemorrhaging, thus saving his life. Medics then rushed the party to a local hospital, where that person was able to recover from their injuries.
Lt. William Broyles was awarded the Life Saving Ribbon, making it the second one he has received.
