JESUS, Mary, Joseph and the wee donkey – Line of Duty series 6 finale is here.
The sixth season was watched by 11million viewers last week.
Our AC-12 heroes return to the box tonight for an episode that will last 60 minutes.
The BBC have given no indication whether there will be another season after this one.
Martin Compston, who plays Steve Arnott, spoke to Jonathan Ross alongside Kate Fleming actress Vicky McClure, 37, ahead of the hotly-anticipated series six finale.
Martin didn’t give much away but did hint at another series if there was an interesting story to tell.

You had to go out with a bang.
Gotta love Hastings.
-
TO SNITCH OR NOT TO SNITCH
Did you see Jo playing the victim during questioning? She was shaking and everything.
Not sure she will snitch though.
“Give us his name!”
Oh the suspense.

JESUS, Mary, Joseph and the wee donkey – did you see the trio in action just then.
Steve was going for it with that tazer!

DODGY
Ooh Jo’s back. But do you see how nervous she is in the back of the van with those two coppers?
Surely something is about to go down?

FAN-TASTIC
Line of Duty die-hard fans can’t believe this could be the last ever season, but they have become experts when it comes to guessing the plots.
Even the stars of the show have given fans a big pat on the back for detective skills over the years.
Though Vicky teased: “We kind of wind people up a little bit, we know what’s coming.”
-
KEEPING MUM
DCI Kate Fleming actress Vicky doesn’t even let her mum know what’s going on in the show – and definitely not who H is.
She adds: “It’s more your family and close friends who are like, ‘So are you going to tell me?’
“Even my mum – I was in their garden, dad went inside – my mum was like, ‘Come on.’ I said, ‘No, no!’ I don’t want to ruin it for them. I’d tell her, she wouldn’t tell anyone, but it’s ruining it for her then.”
-
MIXING WITH MADONNA
DCI Kate Fleming had quite a colourful history before she signed up to the biggest crime drama on TV.
Vicky McClure only used to hang out with the queen of pop Madge herself.
She even flew on her private jet when she starred in Madonna’s 2008 film Filth and Wisdom.

HOT SCOT
Fans have been drooling over Martin Compston’s accent on Jonathan Ross.
People at home took to Twitter to share their amazement after hearing Martin’s original accent, after almost a decade of portraying Londoner DI Steve Arnott.
One fan wrote: “The most surprising thing on The Jonathan Ross Show tonight was Martin Compston’s Scottish accent.”
-
IN OTHER NEWS
Did anyone else know that DCI Steve Arnott was actually Scottish?
Fans were obsessed with his dreamy accent on Jonathan Ross last night.
The hot cop is played by Martin Compson.
And before you ask, he’s off the market with a super hot wife.
Ahh well.

CLUE’D UP
The fan theories are coming in thick and fast.
Surely we can’t be far off with our guesses as to who H is?
One Tweeted: “Money’s on either Carmichael, Wise or Osborne. It better not be either Arnott, Hastings or Fleming.”
-
TIME’S UP
Anyone else getting this stressed about a season finale?
I mean, this is worst than ‘Who killed Ghost’ on Power, or ‘Who killed Lucy’ on EastEnders.
Anyway, fans have come up for a new term for this – ‘PLODS.’
One Tweeted: “Anyone else getting Pre Line of Duty Stressed (PLODS)?”
-
GAME OVER
Fans think this could be the last EVER Line of Duty and they are not happy.
-
SEASON 7 HOPES DASHED?
UH-OH. It could be the last ever Line of Duty tonight.
Fans have gone berserk on social media as show creator Jed Mercurio has posted a farewell to the show thank you message.

BYE RYAN
So the villain we all loved to hate PC Ryan Pilkington may have been killed off last episode, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be someone even more villainous for fans to tear into.
It’s going to go off tonight.
Popcorn at the ready.
