Lizzo has made a surprise appearance in the Star Wars spin-off,The Mandalorian, starring in the show as the character The Duchess.
In the latest episode of the Disney+ saga, Din Djarin and Bo-Katan can be seen exploring the planet Plazir-15, and immediately upon arrival are greeted by the planet’s leadership, Bombadier (played by Jack Black) and Lizzo’s Duchess character.
The latter is in love with the former and serves as a member of the planet’s royal family.
Shortly after the show’s cameo, Lizzo responded to a fan on Twitter who had written: “Disney keep hiring Lizzo so she can be in star wars next.” Lizzo merely added some eyeball emojis.

Lizzo is a huge fan of The Mandalorian and even dressed up as Baby Yoda for Halloween in 2021.
The Special hitmaker is far from the first rap celebrity to appear in the Star Wars universe. Donald Glover made his debut in the Star Wars universe in 2018 with his role as Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Afterward, it was reported that a new series focused on Glover’s character was in development. When asked about working on a Lando Calrissian project during his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last year, however, the rapper/actor played it coy.
“Am I? Just telling all my business,” he said. “No, yeah, I have a lot of things. I like to blossom and then go away. Right now is definitely the start of another one of those. I have like a ton of stuff I’ve been working on, but I just want it all to come out at the same time, so I feel like that’s what’s important.”
In other Lizzo news, the Houston native recently joined forces with SZA for the remix of her hit song “Special.”
The track dropped in February and found the SOS singer taking the lead from Lizzo on the track and opening with a verse focused on self-love and confidence.
“Woke up this mornin’ to somebody judgin’ me/ No surprise they judgin’ me, don’t know who I’m ‘posed to be/ I’m just actin’ up, I’m crass as fuck, and never sayin’ sorry/ Found out in the end that I can only do it for me/ You call it sensitive and I call it superpower/ You just lack empathy ’cause you think it gives you power,” SZA sings.
Lizzo comes in on the second verse: “Could you imagine a world where everybody’s the same / And you could cancel a girl ’cause she just wanted to change? / How could you throw fuckin’ stones if you ain’t been through her pain? / That’s why we feel so alone, that’s why we feel so much shame.”
The song arrived after the pair had a conversation on Instagram Live, during which they fanned out over their mutual admiration for Beyoncé. Lizzo revealed she told Bey she would be seeing her perform on her Renaissance Tour three different times, which left SZA in disbelief.
“I saw ‘Formation’ twice,” Lizzo said. “I went opening night ’cause it was on my birthday, then I saw her in L.A.”
SZA added: “The only time I seen Beyoncé perform was at Coachella, and it was fucking crazy.”
