Victoria, Texas – Bishop Mike Swearingen, director of the Rushing Wind food pantry on Laurent street, says due to the COVID-19 pandemic donations are down.

“I have been doing it pretty much out of pocket and with the help of a couple of other folks, we are just at the point that we are needing financial help, or we are going to have to close down here in the next month or two,” said Swearingen.
Swearingen says it takes about $1000 a month to keep the food pantry open.
