Dr Alex George has shown his appreciation for his mother by surprising her with a dream car.
The 2018 Love Island contestant shared the gesture on social media, saying it was because she had “made so many sacrifices” for him and his siblings over the years.
Alex posted a video on his YouTube channel which showed the emotional moment he presented his mum with a brand new red Mini JCW.
His mum was seen in tears after the sweet gesture as Alex thanked her for dedicating herself to her children.
In a post on Instagram, Alex wrote: “SURPRISE Mum has always put my brothers and I first and made so many sacrifices for us over the years.
“For as long as I can remember, Mum has been saying that one day she would love a drive in a convertible Mini.
“Well Mum, you now have one of your own, which you can drive every single day!
“I hope you love it Mum, Paddington is certainly excited for a spin with the roof down.”
Alex shared a pic of his mum standing beside her new set of wheels along with another snap where she is behind the steering wheel with her new puppy, Paddington, in her arms.
After months of being apart from his parents during lockdown, the reality star has been revelling in being able to see them again now that restrictions have been eased.
In the past year, the family has seen tragedy as Alex’s teen brother Llŷr took his own life, aged just 19.
Alex shared with his followers recently a photo of him with his parents as the posed together in the garden of their Welsh home.
It was the first time since Christmas that they had seen each other.
Alex has been working on the coronavirus frontline for the NHS as an A& E doctor and has been campaigning for better education and support surrounding mental health issues, after being approached by the government.
