Since late September, the internet has been worried about Makayla Noble, a cheerleader from Texas, who suffered a severe spinal cord injury during a tumbling exercise. We have an update on her health.
MaKayla’s family has been keeping internet users up to date about her health and ongoing treatment via their Facebook page. Just yesterday, on October 5, the family posted the latest update about the teen’s treatment.

Makayla Noble’s health update
The latest update on the 16-year old’s health reveals that yesterday, October 5, the teen was able to participate in physical therapy for the very first time in three days.
During her treatment, MayKayla was also suffering from fever, which as per the recent update, has receded. After being admitted to the hospital due to an injury to her spine, the Texas cheerleader developed pneumonia, due to which, she had to be put on a ventilator.
The family’s latest update on the Facebook page, MaKayla’s fight, states that for now, that she is receiving oxygen during the day and being put on a ventilator at night to enable her to rest and heal.
Makayla is also unable to eat solid food due to which she has been placed under tracheotomy. The teen needs to pass the swallow test before being moved to rehab.

What had happened to the Texas teen?
As mentioned earlier, MaKayla suffered from an accident while practising Tumbling, a type of gymnastics that includes acrobatic movements. The teen was left paraplegic due to the injury.
On their Facebook, the Nobles family revealed that the injury left her paralyzed from the chest down and with no movement in her hands.
Makayla’s mother, Jenn Noble, said the doctors have informed that her daughter’s chances of walking again following the harrowing Sept. 20 incident are “very slim.”
As per CheerMAD, Makayla is both a high school cheerleader and a member of Cheer Athletics’ Worlds champion Cheetahs.
GoFundMe page for the cheerleader explored
Makayla, who is an active social media user, documented her cheerleading journey on Instagram. A GoFundMe has been for the teen set up by a family friend named Tiffany Smith.
The page has already been registered close to 2,000 donors and a total of $152,455 has been raised, with the highest donation being $7500.
