OLD TRAFFORD UNDER THE LIGHTS
Good evening and welcome to our live coverage of this evening’s FA Cup fifth round clash as Manchester United host West Ham United.
Both teams are in similarly good form but will be disappointed with dropping points in the Premier League at the weekend.
The Reds threw away a two-goal lead to eventually draw 3-3 with Everton at home on Saturday night.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s finish in the last kick of the game has left Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s men five points adrift of Manchester City having played a game more.
But it remains just two defeats in 17 in what has been a largely promising campaign for Ole and his side.
Tonight gives United the chance to reach another FA Cup quarter-final and could prove the club’s best chance at silverware this season.
Last time out in this competition, it was a late free kick from super sub, Bruno Fernandes that dumped Liverpool out.
The Hammers are in sensational form themselves and will eye this competition as a realistic opportunity to do well.
Saturday evening’s draw at Fulham will be viewed as two points dropped for a side with only one defeat in their last 11 games – winning seven of the last nine.
David Moyes has his team solid in defence and a real force in attack, with plenty of goals coming from midfield.
Though the league may be the priority given they are just one point behind Liverpool in the final Champions League place, you’d expect Moyes will still take this tournament seriously and would love to get one over his former club.
We get underway in Manchester at 7:30pm UK time and we’ll have all the build-up and team news shortly before live updates from kick-off.
