MARRIED at First Sight fans will see four new faces join the smash-hit show tonight, as bosses look to “shake up the experiment”.
Two men and two women will create two new couples tonight, as E4 looks to bolster the cast following last night’s dramatic exits.
This marks the first-ever time the series is getting a shake-up just as the brides and grooms get to know each other.
The four new faces are Sophie, 26, who describes herself as a “bad ‘b*tch”, Gemma, 30, Matt, 32 who has a love of tattoos, and carpenter Johnathan, 32.
This comes following last night’s explosive exits from the hit show.
During yesterday’s episode of Married at First Sight, Jess revealed in the commitment ceremony that she has no “sexual attraction” toward Pjay.
Despite the blow, Pjay asked if there was any coming back from that, in which Jess replied with another brutal “no”.
The realisation hit Pjay and he decided to change his original decision from “stay” to “leave”.
Jess also decided to leave, meaning that their marriage would come to an end.
It was then revealed that Richie and Lara had made the decision to leave the experiment.
Richie was clearly heartbroken as he thought he had “found the one”.

Is there really a science to falling in love? (3/3)
Married at First Sight is a show with experts who match people based on a number of things, but the people don’t know each other at all and meet on their wedding day.
The story of love and a happily ever after is an old one, but it’s still yet to be mastered.
One of the things we look for are people who are similar to ourselves. One study of 1,523 couples checking for similarities between partners found there was an average 86% similarity trend.
Appearance seems like an obvious one, but we are reportedly more attracted to certain people based on our life experiences.
The final one is bodily ratio. The ideal proportion for hip to waist ration is said to be 7:10 while women reportedly seek a man with a 9:10 ratio.
The reality is though, of course, that different people are attracted to all sorts of different things.

There are a range of things that reportedly play into falling in love with a person.
The first is their smell.
Pheromones are chemicals, but they aren’t in the body, like hormoenes.
Pheromones are is on the skin and is in sweat and other bodily fluids. It’s thought to be linked to the initial attraction to a person.

The story of love and a happily ever after is an old one, but it’s still yet to be mastered.
There are reportedly three stages of love. The first is Lust.
Lust is thought to be driven by testosterone in men and oestrogen in women. The second stage is attraction.
Attraction is driven by a number of things, but gives us a feeling not too dissimilar to the effect of drugs. It caused the release of chemicals in the brain including dopamine (pleasure) and adrenaline (fight or flight). The third stage is attachment.
The chemicals released are replaced with oxytocin, also known as the “cuddle” hormone. This is when long-term plans are made and typically linked to long-term relationships.

Death threats because of MAFS
It’s not news that people on reality shows often get a fair amount of abuse, particularly online.
This year’s MAFS cohort are, sadly, no different.
Whitney has been vocal about some of the messages she’s received online, but now Jess has opened up about her experience.
Jess married PJay before he told her that he was an exotic dancer. Upon finding out what he did for a living, Jess broke down and told the producers that she didn’t want to go on the honeymoon.
After she spoke to her mum though, Jess reconsidered and decided to go with PJay.
Viewers of the show have sent some unkind messages though, to which Jess responded: “Can people stop sending me death threats because I’ve literally done f**k all wrong in this situation.
“You were not at my wedding. Let’s remember it’s edited so not everything you see is what happened. There’s a lot more context to it.”

Why is Married at First Sight so popular?
The show has been running for many years, but in the UK, MAFS really blew up in the UK.
A Brooklyn-based journalist outlined why she watched Married at First Sight rather than plan her own wedding: “The seductive promise of Married at First Sight is that you can bypass the barbarism of dating, find your perfect match, and emerge in love and battle tested in just eight weeks.
Brittany Luse continued: “Like most relationships, things rarely work out so smoothly, if they do at all.
“But on the show and in the real world, it’s the outliers that push all of us to buy into another season.”
