When it comes to Jaffa Cakes, there are so many ways to enjoy the delicious treat.
We’ve got a full moon, half moon, crescent moon and total eclipse to name a few.
But while those are just four different ways, did you know there were more?
According to new research, there are at least 520 ways to scoff a Jaffa Cake.
Statistician Dr Geoff Ellis was determined to find an answer and he used data to reach a conclusion.
And this might come as a surprise to you but the way you eat the treat says a lot about your personality.
Behavioural psychologist and dating expert Jo Hemmings explored the top 10 ways to eat Jaffa Cakes.
The most popular was in two halves (52%) or some might say half moon, followed by one bite (26%), also known as a total eclipse.
In third place was to nibble around the outside of the sponge first (7%), leaving the filling last to enjoy.
The conversation of eating Jaffa Cakes has been a topic for years with over 69% of Brits claiming they eat it the “correct” way.
But 28% admit they often argue with someone about the “right” way to do it.
The study also explored what your preferred eating method says about your personality.
Jo said: “Jaffa Cakes are a unique eating experience and everyone has their own way of enjoying them.
“You might prefer to nibble all the chocolate off before eating the sponge or go straight in for the centre.
“Just like Jaffa Cakes themselves, we’re all uniquely different in exactly how we choose to eat them.”

Half-moon: Personality traits: They’re confident and self-assured. They can be rational, traditional and see life in an optimistic light.
They may be quite conformist but probably also quite chilled and happy to go with the flow.
Total eclipse: Personality traits: They’re spontaneous, enjoy instant gratification and likely to be impulsive.
They’re also confident and charismatic.
Edge nibbler: Personality traits: Likely to be amiable, unassuming, disciplined and patient.
They may also be a little shy, reserved or introverted, but enjoy the precision of the nibble and like to prolong their enjoyment.

They’re enterprising and adventurous and enjoy taking a risk but aren’t great planners.
Sponge Starter: Personality traits: Tend to be happy going with the flow and waiting their turn for the good things in life.
They’re not necessarily traditionalists, but are patient. They appreciate romance may be a slow burn rather than an instant chemistry.
