A COUPLE had a child after attempting for six years — then midwives helped daddy suggest.
Steve Branson and Jess Mayall, collectively 18 years, had a sequence of heartaches earlier than Imogen arrived final week.
Midwives dressed her in a baby-grow with the message: “Mummy, will you marry Daddy?”
Jess instantly mentioned sure at Hull Girls and Youngsters’s Hospital.
Jess, from Grimsby, Lincs, mentioned: “It was such a tremendous shock. We’ve had many ups and downs collectively.
“In 2018 we had been fortunate sufficient to conceive with the assistance of the IVF workforce in Hull. However sadly, on fifth July 2019, daughter Ava was born sleeping at 38 weeks and three days.
“Imogen is our rainbow child.”
Steve mentioned: “It looks like an enormous weight has been lifted and this felt like the right time to ask Jessica to be my spouse.”

“It was so nice to be involved in something so meaningful and positive for this lovely couple after everything they have been through.”
