NEXT STAGE: Freshen in 2021
Mini’s core hardtops and convertibles are undergoing a freshening for 2022 and arrive in U.S. stores in the second quarter of 2021. The updated models, which include 2-door and 4 door hardtops; the all-electric Cooper SE, and convertible variants, will see a $500 price increase across many trim levels. To improve aerodynamics, the 2022 hardtop and convertibles integrate air curtains on the front bumper, and fold fog light functionality into the redesigned headlight. The front-end features a new single unbroken hexagon front grille that extends low to the road with the safety bar hidden underneath a body-color panel. In the interior, the 2022 models receive a new steering wheel design, new center instrument design with an 8.8-inch screen, a heated steering wheel, and safety tech such as lane departure warning.
