Sometimes trying to get your children to clean up after themselves can be a chore in itself.
Whether you want them to do their bed or wash the dishes, it’s not always easy is it?
But one mum thought she was smart with her plan to encourage her boy to be neater and it didn’t go down well.
In a bid to convince her son to be tidy, the mum wrote a letter pretending to be the Tooth Fairy.
The anonymous parent told him the mess was making it hard for the mythical creature to visit.
It read: “I tried to come in and get your tooth but there were so many toys on the floor, I tripped and fell.
“I am going to come back tonight. Please make sure your room is clean so I won’t hurt myself again.”
The letter was then shared on Facebook in the Clean, Declutter, Organise Your Home UK group.
Although many parents praised the mum for her creativity, others weren’t so sure about it.
One wrote: “This is fantastic. I’m going to borrow this,” as well as multiple laughing emojis.
Another admitted: “Guilty of this. My daughter was heartbroken and cried but the room was tidy after.”

Meanwhile others claimed the trick was “mean and pointless”.
The user said: “Just have your kid clean their room AND let the tooth fairy come. No tricks needed.

Meanwhile in other news, an awkward note from a neighbour told a woman they can “see everything” when she showers.
Sarah Yates was on holiday when her cousin sent her a snap of the note posted through the letterbox on Friday.
But a neighbour told her that they’d written the note to save them the embarrassment of a face-to-face encounter.
The young journalist said that she had checked the issue by turning on her lights and standing in the garden to see.
