A mum has slept in a separate bedroom to her husband for 11 years.
But if you thought this had negatively impacted the couple’s sex life, you’d be wrong.
Lauren Lodder believes sleeping in her own space actually “helps (her) marriage”.
In a first person piece for Love What Matters, the mum explained: “I don’t like sharing a bed – with anyone, never have.
“Their breathing, their moving, their hogging of the covers, their trips to the bathroom wake me up, and once I’m awake, I’m awake. “
For the sake of her sanity – and getting some rest – Lauren cuddles her husband goodnight and heads up to her “mum cave”.

She told her 123,000 Instagram followers: “I feel like this is something I needed to get off my chest because people can get really weird about it.
“I get the ‘Ohhhhhhh’ look. Like my marriage is one step away from separate houses and eventually separate lives.
“But, I promise you, I think this helps our marriage if anything because a sleepy, cranky wife doesn’t exactly make for a joyful daytime.”
Lauren added that the majority of parents aren’t getting up in the middle of the night to get jiggy.
She said: “Let me tell you, few parents are waking up at 2AM after a long day with the kids and rolling over for some sexy time.”

Lauren shared her story to help others who worry about the judgement of others.
She added: “You do not need to defend you relationship to anyone.”
The post racked up 5,000 likes – and many agreed with her message.
One responder said: “My hubby and I do the same. We are going on nine years!
“It’s such a blessing in disguise. My friends swear it’s the reason we never fight. Keep doing you,girl!”
