Future homeowner of a new construction SFH. The stage is pre-drywall right now, and we went to visit the site and noticed that there was a 3-4″ pipe in the master bedroom wall. I believe this is the radon mitigation system. The builder uses a passive one (no fan?) that the pipe goes from crawlspace (basement) to roof. I guess our floor plan has it in this area whereas the other floor plans are located in other rooms/spaces.
Since this location is where we will be sleeping with my head literally a few feet from the wall, is this a concern? Wasn’t sure if radon could “escape” the pipe and saturate our master bedroom. Just seems like an odd choice and the thought of sleeping next to potential “venting” radon is concerning.
