Hi All-
Hoping someone can help provide some insight here. I’m looking at buying a newly built house, and noticed during the showing that in two spots on the driveway part of the grade slopes towards the house and not away (two images linked).
We’re thinking of putting in an offer on the house as we really liked it, and would plan to address this first during the offer phase with the seller to see if this is something they’d fix given it’s a new build.
Wanted to get your thoughts that if they don’t agree to fix this, is it something to be concerned about or need to fix asap? We have the original building plans for the house and it says the foundation was sealed and has drain tile around the footing, so not sure if that’s enough to keep water out of the basement with this potential driveway grade issue. Also not sure if this is something we shouldn’t be too concerned about given it’s this one spot that pools with water. For context, this is in Michigan where we can get quite a bit of rain.
Any insight is appreciated, thank you!
