Ruth Davidson quizzed the SNP leader on her plans to combat the childcare needs of key workers over the Christmas period. Ms Sturgeon said the Scottish Government will outline their conclusions next week in order to parents enough notice prior to the Christmas period starting.
Ms Davidson asked: “What provision is being put in place for the children of key workers over this period who could be faced with a childcare crisis in little over a fortnight’s time.”
Ms Sturgeon replied: “We are deliberately thinking very hard about all these issues, they are not straight forward arguments.
“I hope we will set out our conclusions on that next week to give parents due notice.
“We will make these decisions carefully given the factors at play.”

“Everything we are doing right now, acting in a way to try and contain and surprise the virus, causes difficulty and harms in other ways.
“That is the nature of the decision making that is underway not just here but across the UK and much of the world right now.”
On Monday, Ms Sturgeon admitted that the SNP could launch their latest Scottish independence bid as early as next year as she seeks to rebuild Scotland.
The SNP leader stated that she wanted another referendum to take place in the early part of the new Scottish Parliament’s term following the election in May 2021.
Scotland’s First Minister continued: “I am not going to go further and put a precise date on that right now for the very reasons we have been talking about.
“We are still like most countries around the world in a global pandemic, there are lots of uncertainties ahead of us right now.
“We do not know exactly when the end of the pandemic will be.
“I think it is really important for Scotland, the polls would suggest the majority of people agree with me, that we equip ourselves with the powers to rebuild from Covid in a way the majority of people that live here want to see.”
