Who doesn’t love the chocolate-y deliciousness that is Nutella?
The European spread is massively popular thanks to its adaptability. You can spread it on toast, slap it in a cake or drizzle it over ice cream for a decadent treat.
But, if you constantly have jars of the stuff piled up in your cupboards then you’ll want to know this nifty trick shared by a Reddit foodie.
The Nutella fan posted about what they think is the “correct” way to eat the spread on Reddit’s Life Pro Tips forum saying their girlfriend taught them the hack, reports the Mirror.
Under the user name “UD_Ramirez9” they dubbed the trick “mind-blowing”.
He wrote: “My girlfriend taught me this. I found it hard to believe at first but it works time and time again.
“If you only take from the center of the Nutella jar, the thickness of the Nutella stuck to the glass will pull it down. This will cause the sides to be perfectly clean by the next day.
“I suspect it is because of the cohesion of the Nutella pulling down the remains, and/or the thickness keeping the residue from drying out and sticking to the glass.
“Either way, I was surprised to see her trick works really well. No endless scratching to get the remains out by the end, except for the very bottom.
“I know, right? Mind blown.”
Hundreds of chocolate fans commented on the post.
Some questioned if the Nutella hack would work in the UK as it contains different ingredients to the US version where the American poster was from.
Luckily, one generous foodie confirmed that it will work just as well for those of us in Europe.
They noted: “Works on UK Nutella. At uni my weapon of choice was a full on dessert spoon. All you need to adjust is the ambient temp.
“I’d say 16 degrees was enough for the UK stuff.”
