I know we love to debate bubble vs no bubble here, and often times in discussing lumber shortages we will talk about supply chain issues, population / generational considerations, and of course COVID. However, I recently read an interesting article from The Atlantic ( here ) essentially stating that the shortages will continue to be a massive issue due to climate change factors. And due to the recovery time of forests, we won’t see it getting better for…40 or so years.
I’m thinking the lack of new builds will continue to cause major pressure on the existing real estate market even after COVID is a distant memory. Feeling especially happy to have purchased what I hope is our “forever-home” last year. If you’re out there thinking about buying and timing, I wanted to make sure you had another consideration in your pocket when making this big decision!
(I searched but didn’t see this posted anywhere else, apologies if duplicate.)
