What does Ostara mean?
Ostara is a spring festival which celebrates and honours the goddess of the dawn Eostre and the spring equinox.
Eostre comes from the word East, which is where the Sun rises from. Eostre represents the arrival of spring and longer days.
Ostara is a wiccan holiday and one of their eight Sabbats and marks the beginning of the agricultural cycle when farmers would start planting seeds.
Similar to other cultures, the festival represents renewal, new beginnings and hope for better days.
