THE organiser of some of Oswestry’s best-loved sporting events has taken his love of running one step further and to set up his own team.
Alan Lewis, who owns Adrenaline Sporting Events, says he launched the running team because of his own love of the sport, coming from his background as a runner.
Alan says the team of eight will be given all the best opportunities to compete but also get the benefits of exercise and camaraderie.
He said: “We now have a team of eight runners from Shropshire and the borders, including one from Manchester, who will run in the Adrenaline Sporting Events kit.
“In my racing days I really wanted to be racing local events and also racing for a team with support.

“Unfortunately at that time neither were available to me so one of my main objectives when I set Adrenaline up was to put local events on and then look at supporting eight runners in a unique team environment.
“The runners get a nice little package that provides lots of team kit, race entries and nutritional support from our friends at Hilltop Energy.
“The team will be racing most weekends and we look forward to watching them achieve their goals over the coming months.
“The team isn’t all about podiums and performance, we wanted to bring eight good people together.”
The team will have Vicky Hinstridge, Daniel Husbands, Julian Ayres, Chris Williams, Julie Collins, Darren Martin, Pete Walker and Melissa Turnbell.
