Hugh Dennis and Claire Skinner’s relationship appears to be going strong.
The Outnumbered co-stars surprised fans – and themselves – in 2018 when it was confirmed that they began dating a year earlier after their splits from their respective partners.
And the couple were pictured enjoying a low-key walk in Hampstead, London, together this week.
Claire, 55, and Hugh, 58, chatted away as they went on a casual stroll through the posh London area, with both actors wearing backpacks.
Hugh was dressed in a grey jumper, jeans and green trainers, while Claire also wore jeans and trainers, paired with a bright red sweatshirt.
Hugh and Claire starred in the hit BBC series Outnumbered as parents Pete and Sue Brockman, who struggled to manage their three unruly children, Jake (Tyger Drew-Honey), Ben (Daniel Roche) and Karen (Ramona Marquez) in day to day life.
The comedy ran from 2007 until 2014 and was followed by a 2016 Christmas special, and it was only after wrapping up the series that the on-screen couple began dating in real life.
The news broke in 2018 that the stars had been dating since March the previous year, and Hugh confirmed the news, saying: ‘I am very, very happy, we are so very happy. It’s nice and yes, it’s so lovely.’
Meanwhile, Claire called their romance a ‘lovely little life surprise’ while appearing on Lorraine last year.
The actress said: ‘We are (together). It’s a lovely little life surprise, isn’t it? It’s a lovely thing.’
Their relationship came after both Claire and Hugh’s marriages ended, with sources insisting they had never been anything but friendly before their respective splits.
Claire broke up with husband Charles Palmer in 2016 after 15 years marriage; the exes have two children together, William, 21, and Henry, 18.
And Hugh has two children, 23-year-old Freddie and 21-year-old Meg, with ex-wife Kate Abbot-Anderson, who he split from in 2015 after 19 years of marriage.
It is believed Claire lives with her beau in a £1.2 million London penthouse flat the actor bought after his divorce.
While their off-screen romance is going swimmingly, it remains to be seen whether we will see the Brockmans back together on screen.
The festive special four years ago saw the Outnumbered kids as young adults, with Tyger now 24, Daniel now 21, and baby of the cast Ramona now 19.
However, Hugh suggested that his ‘children’s’ ages don’t prevent the show from coming back.
Speaking on Sunday Brunch in 2018, the Not Going Out star said: ‘I wouldn’t be at all surprised if there was another special at some point.
‘As I’ve said before, kids don’t leave home until they’re about 35, so we can … we’ve got years. Years and years.’
