Personal trainer discovers McDonald’s burger is ‘healthier’ than protein cookie

A fitness influencer has discovered that a McDonald’s cheeseburger is healthier than a protein cookie.

Treating yourself to a bite to eat at your favourite fast food restaurant is most likely never going to be the healthiest option.

However, personal trainer Laura Ghiacy has shared with her 336,000 TikTok followers that the much loved cheeseburger may not be bad at all.

Well, in comparison to a protein cookie.

Taking to her TikTok account under the username @lauraghiacy, the personal trainer listed the differences of nutrition between the two foods.

Laura found that there were 420 calories in the protein cookie.

Whereas, there was only 300 calories in the fast food burger.

Ranking slightly higher in the levels of fat, the cheeseburger contained 13 grams of fat compared to the protein cookie’s 12 grams.

Although, there was a starker difference of sugar levels in the two foods.

The plant-based protein snack contained 25 grams of sugar.

But the McDonald’s cheeseburger only had 7 grams.

Laura then listed various other comparisons before she concluded that the most ‘important’ issue between the two foods was the taste.

The popular personal trainer declared that the cheeseburger wins on the flavour front as she said the burger tasted “a thousand times better”.

Registered dietitian Tia Glover commented on the post: “As a Dietitian, I freaking love this! We love putting labels on everything but in the end food is food.”

Since the food revelation was posted three days ago, the video has now racked up a whopping 15 million views and 2.2 million likes.

Stunned by the comparison, many people fled to the comments to share their thoughts.

One person commented: “All I heard was I can eat cheeseburgers without feeling guilty now.”

Another user added: “This is not about saying the cookie is bad. It’s that a small cheeseburger is not actually the villain that many make it out to be.”

Someone else noted: “Now I’m craving a cheeseburger!”
