My husband and I are looking at houses in a great school district. Since they’re very expensive, we need my parents’ help with part of the down payment to afford it.
We recently found a house that is great, except that there is a residential power pole + lines right behind the backyard in the neighbor’s yard. I would say that the pole is about 20 feet away from the house.
Here’s a photo of a similar pole: https://imgur.com/a/9uXV0d4
Looking online, it looks like all the fears about cancer/radiation are from the high-voltage poles, and not these residential ones.
Is this true?
We personally do not care, but my parents say this is a dealbreaker and they will not help us if we want to buy this house. How can I convince my parents that this is not an issue?
They even sent us this article: https://en.geovital.com/how-close-is-too-close-when-living-near-transmission-power-lines/
If they do not help us, we’ll probably need to buy in a bad school district, but that is always an option.
