Friday in European club soccer featured several intriguing matchups. In the Premier League, all eyes were on London Stadium, where Chelsea dominated West Ham United 5-1. Lucas Paquetá opened the scoring for the hosts, but the world champions took over from there, with João Pedro, Pedro Neto, Enzo Fernández, Moisés Caicedo and Trevoh Chalobah all getting on the score sheet.

Finally, Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain took on Angers in Ligue 1 and emerged with a narrow 1-0 victory. Ousmane Dembélé missed a first-half penalty, but Fabián Ruiz netted the eventual winner five minutes after the interval.
