According to bookies James is the favourite name for the Princess of York’s first born.

And following a year embroiled in the Epstein scandal, Andrew has fallen out of favour with odds on the princess naming her son after her dad 25-1.

Coral bookmakers have currently placed odds on James at 2-1.

After initially being the favourite Arthur is second best in the betting at 3-1, Oliver is 6-1, while Edward is available at 8-1.

“James has leapfrogged Arthur in our baby name betting on Princess Eugenie’s boy.

“It’s obviously a name which carries a lot of royal tradition so it is no surprise that it is the favourite ahead of the likes of Arthur and Oliver,” said Coral’s John Hill.

The Queen’s granddaughter Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank welcomed their son, who weighed 8lbs 1oz, on Tuesday, February 9 at 8.55am

The new royal baby – Eugenie and Mr Brooksbank’s first child – is the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh’s ninth great-grandchild.
