PS5 stock could be hard to come by in the UK during the next few weeks. PS5 restocks in the UK hit record numbers in the run-up to Christmas 2021, including the longest ever PlayStation 5 UK restock at GAME – which lasted for over a week. It’s believed the unprecedented number of PS5 restocks in Q4 2021 in Blighty were all part of a push from Sony to help hit Christmas demand for the PlayStation 5.
However, according to the @PS5StockAlertUK Twitter account, this will lead to decreasing PS5 stock levels in the first half of this month, as well as decreasing stock levels for Q1 2022 in general.
In a new update the PS5 stock tracker account posted: “PlayStation 5 – UK Restock Update.
“PS5 stock has been quiet in the UK recently however, retailers are next expected to restock the console during the 2nd half of January 2022.
“Why are restocks now slower?
“The UK has seen an unprecedented amount of PS5 restocks during Q4 2021 as Sony pushed console production in time for Christmas, with some major retailers remaining in stock for more than 24hrs.
“This led to PS5 restocks drastically decreasing for Q1 2022.”
After the number of restocks for the PS5 in the UK in the past few months, this will be the last thing anyone that wasn’t successful in the recent restocks will be hoping to hear.
Especially with the number of high-profile releases that are in store for PS5 gamers in 2022.
In February Horizon Forbidden West will be launching, with Gran Turismo 7 out in March and Forspoken – a new IP from Square Enix – out in May 2022, while God of War Ragnarok is also out this year.
Other exclusive games heading to the PS5 in 2022 include Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, Sifu, Ghostwire: Tokyo and Stray.
While multi-format games heading to the PS5 in 2022 include Elden Ring, Hogwarts Legacy, Dying Light 2, Saints Row, the next-gen version of Grand Theft Auto 5 and much more.
