With so many people searching for a new console in 2021, Sony is struggling to keep up with demand, making PS5 restock events important to those trying to snap one up.
The good news is that more PS5 stock is reportedly dropping in October, with several big retailers expected to offer shipments.
September ended with a flurry of PlayStation 5 sales, including from Amazon, GAME and Argos.
And since these have ended, thousands of more consoles are expected to be offered both in-store and online.
It’s been predicted that Very, Smyths and ShopTo will be the next UK retailers to restock the PS5.
This could happen between October 5 and October 7, depending on the internal plans of each store.
It’s not the most solid prediction of the month, and there’s a good chance that only one of these stores will be ready to dish out consoles.
The news has been shared by PS5 Stock UK – a reliable stock tracker account on Twitter – which is known for providing the best guides on what’s happening next.
They have also revealed that Currys will be offering more stock during October 2021 that will not be open to the general public to buy online.
Instead, those who have signed up to the Currys VIP services and have already been designated a place in the list will have a chance at buying a console later this month.
BT is another retailer that will be restocking the PS5 this month, but this will again depend on what accounts and services you have with the company.
John Lewis is another possible source for PlayStation 5 console but is only expected to ship a small number of consoles this month.
The message posted on Twitter by PS5 Stock UK reads: “We may see a possible drop by Very, Smyths Toys, and ShopTo within the coming days. No specific date yet as this is only our own personal speculation when looking back at restock patterns. BT 4-5 Oct. Curry’s is expected to get a shipment on 24th October for VIP winners waiting.
“John Lewis expects to receive PlayStation 5 consoles on 15/10, indicating a possible online restock a few days before or after the 15th. Disc & Digital Editions are expected with the following stock level: Disc (<700) | Digital (<300).”
Other retailers like Argos, Amazon and GAME are expected to receive more PS5 stock during October, but it’s unclear on what dates these new consoles will be available to buy.
Knowing when a PS5 restock is happening can be vital, but it’s also worth knowing how each retailer handles its shipments.
And here are a few examples of how best to try and buy a PlayStation 5 console from leading UK retailers:
ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for crashing and being unable to complete purchases when site traffic is high. Stock trackers suggest using the mobile Argos app and keeping an eye on local store listings.
AMAZON UK: Amazon UK runs better under strain but still comes with a few kinks worth mentioning. Having an account set up with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before checking out.
GAME: GAME is a UK retailer that offers the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout, as this option is less likely to crash when completing a purchase. There are no new dates for when the next PS5 restock will happen.
