UPDATE: With PlayStation Direct leading the way with stock drops this week, it looks like there could be another from a bigger UK retailer later in December.
A new update shared today by the PS5 Stock UK tracker account on Twitter reveals that Argos will be restocking the PS5 later this month.
The new PS5 stock drop could go live as early as December 10, with the account sharing the following information: “Argos has received both Disc & Digital Editions of PS5 consoles and is currently being distributed to local stores. Once these distributions are complete, we’d see an online & in-store drop either on the 10th or between the 14th-17th.”
ORIGINAL: With all the leading retailers looking to bring out one more PS5 restock before the end of the year, PlayStation Direct has one of the best chances of hosting multiple events.
Sony has been busy over the past month providing new consoles, and while more is expected from the tech giant, it won’t be available for everyone to use and buy. GAME has offered one of the last PS5 restocks, selling thousands of consoles online, while console hunters have been waiting for more news from Argos and Amazon UK.
However, there has been no news of any new PS5 stock drops from any retailers this week. An update could be shared at any point, and it has become pretty rare for a week to go by without one leading retailer offering a restock.
But until we hear more, gamers will have to keep checking for more news from places like PS5 Stock UK on Twitter. While there are no new PS5 stock updates coming today, there are a few alternatives to check out.
Microsoft is hosting several updates this week via its Xbox Series X All Access program.
It should be noted that Microsoft is not extending credit and does not determine credit terms or eligibility.
Financing is provided through the retailer, with ASDA, GAME and Smyths Toys all offering restock this weekend for the Xbox Series X, via the All Access Credit program.
Other retailers are expected to drop shipments for the PlayStation 5 before the end of the year, but it’s unclear what dates this could happen.
Knowing when a PS5 restock is happening can be vital, but it’s also worth knowing how each retailer handles its shipments.
And here are a few examples of how best to try and buy a PlayStation 5 console from leading UK retailers:
ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for crashing and being unable to complete purchases when site traffic is high. Stock trackers suggest using the mobile Argos app and keeping an eye on local store listings.
AMAZON UK: Amazon UK runs better under strain but still comes with a few kinks worth mentioning. Having an account set up with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before checking out.
CURRYS: Currys does not host purely digital restock events and there has been no indication when they might offer more consoles online. The retailer chooses to sell the PlayStation 5 via its brick and mortar stores via a ticketing system. Those interested must sign up on the Currys PS5 page to have the chance of being selected, which will then be followed by waiting until the next shipment of consoles arrives.
GAME: GAME is a UK retailer that offers the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout, as this option is less likely to crash when completing a purchase. The next PS5 restock at GAME has not been announced.
