PwC has announced the appointment of Jan Sijbrand and Troy Paredes as external directors to its global oversight board.
Commencing from 5 March 2021, Sijbrand and Paredes will join the board that is responsible for the governance of PwC International (PwCIL) and the PwC network, as well as overseeing the group’s network leadership team and its approval of business standards.
The pair will add to the existing 18 board members, consisting of partners and principals from 13 global PwC firms, before formally joining the elected PwCIL board on June 24.

Providing the role with a “wealth of experience” in financial services, risk management, oversight, and supervision, Sijbrand currently serves as deputy chairman of the supervisory board of PwC Netherlands.
Paredes is the founder of the consulting firm, Paredes Strategies, and has also served as an SEC commissioner between 2008 and 2013.
Currently an external director on the oversight board of PwC US, he will bring expertise in governance, compliance, strategy, and regulatory to the position.
