PwC UK has announced the appointment of 22 new equity partners, effective from the beginning of January, with partners having been promoted across all of the firm’s business divisions.
Of the newly promoted partners, 41% are women and 14% are from a minority ethnic background. PwC said the minority ethnic percentage is a “small improvement” on its July 21 intake, while its proportion of new female partners remains the same.
Additionally, 27% of the new partners are based outside of London, as the firm continues to invest in its regional business and “reflect” its clients and communities across the UK.
The promotions are in addition to the firm’s usual partner promotion round in July, and PwC said this reflects the firm’s “strong growth”, driven by demand for services including transformation, deals, and ESG.
Alongside the partner appointments, there have reportedly been “record levels” of promotions at all levels, and an additional 650 people will be joining the firm throughout the month.
Kevin Ellis, chairman and senior partner at PwC UK, said: “The role of leaders has never been more important as organisations grapple with the transformation brought about by the pandemic and other major challenges such as climate change and regional inequality.
“The new partners represent the diverse skills we need to continue to grow sustainably while supporting our clients and people as they respond to these unique challenges and opportunities.”
