Queen’s Brian May has mocked the Government by sharing a spoof video on his Instagram page.
The musical legend posted a clip – which is a fake clip that has been created by a social media whizz to poke fun at Boris Johnson – of the Prime Minister giving a speech outside No 10 Downing Street while a party goes on inside it.
At the end of the faux clip, the front door flings open and a cartoon of former Health Secretary Matt Hancock is seen kissing Gina Coladangelo – who worked as his aide in Government before he was resigned this year.
Hancock stepped down after footage emerged of him sharing a kiss in his ministerial office with Gina – when the country was facing strict social distancing rules.
Brian, 74, then slammed the Government by typing atop of the clip: “DISGUSTED at the appallingly low quality of our leadership?”
The guitarist shared the post to his Instagram Stories on Wednesday evening after Boris announced Covid rules will be tightened to curb the Omicron Covid variant.
It comes after footage emerged this week of senior Number 10 officials joking and laughing about a Downing Street Christmas party last year when the UK faced lockdowns, which has sparked anger across the country.
The footage, which was obtained by ITV News, is believed to be a rehearsal for a TV media briefing recorded on 22 December last year – four days after an alleged Christmas party took place in Number 10.
In the clip senior Number 10 aides jokingly discuss a “business meeting” and a “cheese and wine” event.
At the time London was under Tier 3 restrictions, which prevented mixing indoors between households.
Mr Johnson addressed the claims in Parliament saying he was “furious” at the impression that Downing Street aides did not take Covid rules seriously.
He said: “I was furious to see that clip and I apologise unreservedly for the offence that has been caused up and down the country.”
The PM said he had been repeatedly assured there was no party and that no Covid rules had been broken.
He added an investigation would be launched over the allegations.

Allegra Stratton, who was Boris’ press secretary at the time the clip was recorded, was seen in the clip and yesterday resigned after the footage emerged.
In the clip, Ed Oldfield, a special adviser to the Prime Minister, asked Ms Statton: “I’ve just seen reports on Twitter that there was a Downing Street Christmas party on Friday night, do you recognise those reports?”
She then smiled as she said: “I went home.”
They then discussed with colleagues whether the event was a “cheese and wine” evening.
She added: “This fictional party was a business meeting … and it was not socially distanced.”
Ms Stratton said in a tearful resignation statement, she would “regret the remarks for the rest of my days”.
