Rapper Nines, 31, has been charged with four drug offences.
The musician, real name Courtney Freckleton, was arrested on Thursday.
The 31-year-old was charged alongside Jason Thompson, 35, of Forham Road, Barnet in north London.
The pair have been charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine, conspiracy to supply cannabis and conspiracy to import a controlled Class B drug.
The two men were arrested on Thursday, 3 June, after warrants were carried out across addresses in London and Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.
They were scheduled to appear in Willesden Magistrate’s Court today.
A statement on the Metropolitan Police website said: “Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have charged two men after a proactive operation to tackle the supply of drugs.
“Courtney Freckleton, 31 (17.01.90) of Barbican, EC2, and Jason Thompson, 35 (24.04.86) of Forham Road, Barnet have been charged with: Conspiracy to import a controlled Class B drug with intent to evade a prohibition/restriction between 10 March 2020 and 3 July 2020; Conspiracy to supply a Class A controlled drug (cocaine); Conspiracy to supply a Class B controlled drug (cannabis); Conspiracy to conceal / disguise/convert/transfer / remove criminal property.
“They are due to attend Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Friday, June 4.”
The rapper made a name for himself when he released his debut album One Foot Out in 2017 which reached the top four in the charts.
Last year, Nines was nominated for five MOBO Awards.
His latest full-length record, Crabs In A Bucket, was released in 2018 which put him in the running for awards including best male act, best hip hop act and album of the year.
