Hi guys, we are currently looking to sell our current home and buy a new one (in SoCal). We have pre-approval for our purchase subject to us putting the entirety of the net proceeds from our sale towards our new purchase. This would mean we’d need to insert a contingency relating to the sale of our current home, in our contract for the purchase of the new house.
We’d also like to avoid having to ‘move twice’, so it would be ideal if we could move directly from our current home to the new house. This would probably mean we would have to insert a rent-back clause into the sale of our current home.
Based on the above parameters, I’ve put together a possible timeline (see graphic at https://imgur.com/a/gDtI7ha). Is this timeline realistic, and/or is there anything else I might be failing to consider?
