Royal Caribbean Group CEO Jason Liberty kicked off Christmas week by posting a statement on LinkedIn that looked back at his company’s year, reflecting on its accomplishments and looking forward to the future.
As we close out 2024, I want to reflect on an extraordinary year for Royal Caribbean Group. We’ve launched groundbreaking ships like Icon of the Seas, Silver Ray, and Utopia of the Seas, and enjoyed our first full year of Celebrity Ascent sailing, setting new standards for the best vacation experiences.
We introduced industry-first innovations, like our loyalty status match program and upgraded apps for seamless vacation planning, and resumed operations in China, welcoming more travelers back to sea.
Our vision for the future continues to take shape with projects like Perfect Day Mexico and Royal Beach Club Cozumel; and new ships including the debuts of Star of the Seas and Celebrity Xcel, with Icon IV not far behind. We also continued to make strides in our sustainability work, from our Decarbonization Summit to expanding our use of bio-fuels. These milestones highlight our commitment to innovation and responsible travel.
It’s been a year of remarkable achievements and collective growth. Thank you to our dedicated employees, trusted partners, and valued guests for making this year unforgettable. Wishing everyone a happy holiday season and a new year filled with new journeys!
Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean International CEOs share holiday messages
Celebrity Cruises CEO Laura Hodges Bethge had a lot to celebrate in 2024. Her cruise line returned to record booking levels, began calling on Perfect Day at CocoCay, and moved forward with its upcoming new ship.
She also posted a holiday message on LinkedIn.
As we look back on 2024, I am filled with pride at the milestones we’ve achieved together at Celebrity Cruises. This year, we celebrated our first full year of sailings with Celebrity Ascent, hosted an incredibly fun President’s Cruise in the Caribbean, sailed to Perfect Day at CocoCay for the first time, and took a big step forward in bringing Celebrity Xcel to life with her keel laying ceremony.
We’ve performed over 6,000 theater shows featuring more than 500 musicians and 700 performers, served 32.5 million beverages, and delighted with countless crème brûlées and espresso martinis. We also launched the Loyalty Status Match program, allowing Captains Club Members to enjoy tier matching across Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean, and Silversea.
These achievements wouldn’t be possible without our dedicated Celebrity teams, both shoreside and shipboard, and the support of our valued partners and guests. Thank you all for making 2024 an extraordinary year. Sending holiday cheer and best wishes for a bright and successful new year!
Royal Caribbean International CEO Michael Bayley posted his message to LinkedIn a few weeks ago before Thanksgiving.

•Our dedicated crew members who go above and beyond to make every moment special for our guests and keep them coming back for more;
•Our passionate shoreside team members who never stop dreaming up ways to make our vacation offerings even better;
•And the breathtaking destinations that remind us of the beauty all around us.Wherever you are celebrating, we hope your day is filled with joy and memories as unforgettable as a day onboard at sea with us.
Looking forward to another fantastic year ahead filled with innovation, exploration and fun.
