The date of the drills was not revealed
Russia held sniper drills in the Rostov region bordering Ukraine, according to a post published on Monday on the Russian Ministry of Defense’s Facebook page. The date of the drills was not revealed.
Snipers from the 150th motorized rifle division of the Southern Military District took part in a training camp at the Kadamovsky training ground in the Rostov Region, the Ministry said.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said on December 1 that it had started “regular” winter military drills in its southern region, parts of which border Ukraine. The exercises involve more than 10,000 troops, the ministry said.
The drills follow a series of diplomatic meetings last week that US and NATO allies hoped would lead Russia to pull back from its aggressions toward neighboring Ukraine. But the talks failed to achieve any breakthroughs, as Russia would not commit to deescalating and American and NATO officials said Moscow’s core demands were non-starters.
