Event takes place Tuesday morning
VICTORIA, Texas—The Salvation Army of Victoria will be doing a food distribution Tuesday.
The distribution will start at 10:00 A.M. and will last as long as supplies last. The event will be at the Salvation Army of Victoria Family Store at 4303 North Navarro. Salvation Army of Victoria commanding officer Kenny Jones told me they will give out 60 boxes of food.
Said Captain Kenny, “Those in our community that fall in the lower income bracket, struggling to make ends meet from week to week, can always use a break. The Salvation Army is happy to share food to our friends anytime it becomes possible. Something as small as a box with fruit, veggies and canned goods can help a family make it through the week. We are not the only provider in town that does food boxes but, at times, it is that extra helping that can be the difference for a family struggling to make ends meet. There are times when those that live close to the poverty line, must choose between food and bills. We never want this to be the case. It is our God given privilege to be a friend in the community.”
