Adele may be rolling in the deep, but Seth Rogen was rolling up a joint before he attended her “One Night Only” concert last month.
The “Superbad” star appeared on “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon” on Wednesday and discussed how he ended up at the big gig, which took place at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles and was later broadcast on CBS.
“I was in the front row of the Adele concert,” Rogan recalled. “That is as surprising to me as anyone because I had no idea I was attending the taping of an Adele television special at all.”
Rogen, 39, revealed he was “extremely high” during the concert special and had no idea it was going to be a massive TV event.
The funnyman, who got an invitation to a “small Adele concert,” asked his wife Lauren if she’d like to come along.
The couple believed it was an intimate gig in a park, so they smoked a “ton of weed” before being chauffeured to the event.
Upon arrival at Griffith Park, the pair were greeted by a film crew and noticed “camera cranes and drones flying around.”
“The first person I see is Oprah Winfrey!” Rogen exclaimed, adding that he still believed that he and his wife could “slink” into the back.
However, the pair were given tickets 1A and 1B, with a camera pointed “literally” at Rogen’s face.
“We’re not equipped to mentally do this right now,” the weed-loving actor remembered thinking at the time.
He also recalled thinking that “there are so many more famous people here who should be sitting where I’m sitting, and I could feel them being insulted that I had such a good seat.”
Rogen told Fallon: “I was in front of Drake. Like there’s no world where I should be in front of Drake. How was that possible?”
The actor appears to be an unlikely Adele fan and revealed he has still never met the British superstar.
Although he says he enjoyed the concert, the comic was “uncomfortable” about being given a top seat and being stoned on camera.
Rogen’s interview with Fallon was a light escape after the actor was slammed last week for appearing to downplay a crime spike in Los Angeles.
The “Knocked Up” star was roasted online for chiming in on a YouTube star’s car being burglarized in LA, saying that’s life in the “big city.”
“Dude I’ve lived here for over 20 years,” Rogen wrote. “You’re nuts haha. It’s lovely here. Don’t leave anything valuable in it. It’s called living in a big city.”
Following the backlash, Rogen attempted to clear the air in a follow-up post on Twitter. “You can be mad but I guess I don’t personally view my car as an extension of myself and I’ve never felt violated any of the 15 or so times my car was broken in to,” Rogen tweeted. “Once a guy accidentally left a cool knife in my car so if it keeps happening you might get a little treat.”
