Fantasies don’t always live up to expectations in real life – and this is especially the case in the bedroom.
Dr Emily Morse, a Doctor of Human Sexuality, revealed how romps can feel less satisfying in real life than they do in your head.
She told her 338,000 followers: “There are some sex acts that don’t live up to all the hype.
“Sure, they might look like a good time in porn, but when we try — not so much in real life.
“Good sex is about doing what FEELS good… and not just about what *looks* good.”
The sexpert went on to list three sex scenarios that were particularly disappointing for her.
She said: “Sex scenarios that sound fun in theory: shower sex, 69, reverse cowgirl…
“Do you agree/disagree? What’s missing from this list?”
The love guru’s post garnered 6,500 likes – and many agreed with her thoughts.
One responder said: “I definitely feel shower sex doesn’t live up to the hype.
“I find showers are nice for intimate time and foreplay but shower sex is very rarely good.”
And another agreed: “Shower sex can be so awkward. I think car sex should be added too.”
Others listed their own disappointing sexual experiences.
One admitted they weren’t a fan of bonking on “the pool table”.
Another said: “Sex on the beach is pretty awful too.”
And a third added: “Pool/hot tub sex. Not what you’d hope.”
But despite all the disappointing experiences listed, some defended their favourite sexual acts.

“Shower can be tricky, but in the right location, also amazing.”
