Eugenie Bouchard has a lot to cover
Bouchard was a promising talent who stormed into the tennis world. Her meteoric rise drew widespread attention, and she was making some real progress.
Reaching the semi-finals of the Australian Open and the French Open in 2014, she proved herself worthy of top tier tennis. The same year, she reached the finals of the Wimbledon Championship where she ended up being the runner-up.
Following the success in 2014, she struggled to keep up the form in the following season. Suffering a string of defeats throughout the year, she made a brief comeback with the US Open.
Rising up the rounds with ease, Bouchard was having a dream tournament. Unfortunately, the good times didn’t last long as she suffered a concussion and had to withdraw from the tournament.
Ever since then, Bouchard has shown flashes of brilliance. However, injuries and bad form have kept her away from major titles.
She lost out in the third round of the qualifiers at the Australian Open. However, with direct entry into the main draw of the French Open, she will be hopeful of putting up a decent performance.
Along with Bouchard, Tsvetana Pironkova is also getting a wildcard entry at Roland Garros. This came as a reward for her splendid run till the quarterfinals of the US Open 2020.
