Simon Cowell has gushed over his son Eric and reflected on finding balance in his life during his first TV appearance after sparking concern with his ‘unrecognisable’ appearance.
The music mogul, 63, appeared on Wednesday’s episode of Loose Women where he spoke about his son Eric, eight, who he shares with his partner Lauren Silverman, 45.
He said he is working on achieving ‘balance’ in his life as he gushed over Eric, who he admitted does not shy away from giving him his opinions – even on his popular TV shows.

Simon, who previously vowed not to get married or have kids, admitted he was ‘late to the party’ with fatherhood but said it is the ‘best thing’ to have happened to him.
Speaking of finding balance in his life, he said: ‘I’m certainly getting there, it’s a good question actually… for sure, where I currently am in my life, my career, being a dad – I was late to the party – so it was the best thing that ever happened to me.’
The Britain’s Got Talent judge went on to speak about his son, saying he does not shy away from giving him his opinions – even about his own hit TV shows.
‘Oh my God yes, non-stop by the way. I have a good idea what he’s going to be when older. He’s got his own opinion and he’s his own man which is really important.’
